Soap Family Internship

Because we decided to host someone recommended by a family friend, it makes sense for us to open to other interested interns. As an intern with our family, you will live in a  two bedroom cabin with two other female interns. You will share a bathroom, outdoor cold water shower and a beautiful porch. Because he will be sharing this space, we are only accepting female interns. You will be responsible for keeping the space clean, including raking the yard around your cabin.

As an intern, you will join in all of the daily tasks that come with living in a Jamaican yard. Your name will be added to the job chart, sharing chores, with everyone in the household (interns, 6 six boys in the family and the parents).

You’ll also choose and develop a project that is in line with your interests and your life goals. We want you to leave here having had an experience that will in advance you in real ways. You will have gained skills and your résumé will be fatter. We expect you to work on this project during normal work hours. Anytime you’re not working specifically on your project, we expect that you will pitch with any work that’s happening in the yard. This can include Beekeeping, farming, drying herbs, making coconut oil, Baking sourdough bread, processing seasonal fruits for freezing, etc. 

We don’t expect you to cook and are soap business is fully staffed. However, if you’re interested in getting experience with vegan cooking, you’re welcome to join in meal prep.
